Blue Jay Way

This is the first drawing I have done in 20 years. I am a bit rusty so it really isn't very good. I used pencil, colored pencil, and crayons. I may do something else to it but I am not quite sure what I want to do as yet.

I will draw some other birds and animals before I attempt to draw a portrait. I want to thank everyone for the kind words about the previous pictures. Those words encouraged me to try it again. Thanks again.

Dear Zoe

I'm so happy you're drawing again!

I love the blue jay.
I grew up in the Laurentian Mtns of Quebec where there are many blue jays.
There are none where I live now in the Rockies, but in the spring & fall Stellars jays fly through here on their migration route.
They are cousins to the blue jay.

As for the drawing, it's lovely!
Those are my very favourite media for drawing - especially crayon.
The kids have a big container full of crayons in all the colours under the sun!
I wish I had time.
I think that I should just get firm with myself & Just Do It.

Thanks for sharing & I'm looking forward to more drawings.

Love
Dale

I like the blue jay. We have lots of blue jays around here, pretty aggressive little things! How about some dog or cat drawings? I agree with you on your comment about the "basement chick" good point, Rachel is in the Attic & she is in the basement and who is she anyway!! Very well said. Hope tomorrow is a good one for you x Grace

Hi Zoe

I didn't get to see ITA, but I did make it to Molly's chat.
Everyone kept me up to date on what was happening.
Those chats are so much fun, but hard to keep up sometimes.
I'm getting the knack now.
I don't mind missing the show if I can at least have fun in the chatroom!

Did you have crispy rolls for dinner?
LOL

Take care.

Love
Dale

Hi Zoe!

Glad you've found the inspiration to draw again! To the eyes of a person who can't draw at all this is really good. Beautiful blue bird...
