The Real Me?
This is a drawing I had done of myself many years ago. I guess you can call it a self portrait but I really don't have tattoos on my face. That wasn't fashionable back in the 70's.
Our assignment was to draw ourselves but not as we really were. So this is what I came up with.
This was done in pencil, crayon, and ink. multimedium as it was called. this was one of two of my drawings that was entered in the art exhibition put on by the school. It didn't win anything though.

..not sure why it did not win anything, but it is very interesting. It looks like stitches on your face. does that meen something? like it though. ox Grace
The tattoos, I should have explained, were something I had seen in a painting. One of the four Indian Kings who had traveled to England in 1710, had these same tattoos that I put on my picture. see the original here.

Zoe,
I like it!
The turquoise catches the eye... Very 7os I should say. Which makes it special! Pity it didn't win anything.

Hi greekzoe,
Wonderful drawing, I love it, and also Pete's eyes drawing and your son's......I think that the old indigenous tribes considered the tattoos as a symbol of power and status.
By the way, I'm an animal lover too...you've got beautiful photos here, ha,ha

Hi Zoe, I love the self portrait, it is beautiful. It reminds me of certain Dante Gabriel Rossetti paintings, I hope I've spelt his name right. Thanks for letting me know it was here, and thankyou for sharing this lovely image.
Take care.

Hello Zoe,
thank you so much for your email. I am very sorry about Emma, how sad for you, so very sorry.
I wanted to capture the essence of being totally helpless in this one, and I think I accomplished that. I really hope the recording of it turns out good, I'm taking my time because I want it to be the best one I've ever done, and the drum parts are a bit tricky because it is a ballad. It is surprizingly difficult to find soft sounding pre-recorded rythms for ballads.
Thank you so much for your support.
I wanted to also say that it is a remarkable drawing. You are so gifted as an artist.
Hi Zoe,
Very beautiful picture! Also stylistically very representative of the times I guess :-)
Thanks Zoe,
someone actually emailed me all of those food package photo's and I thougt... this would make a lot of people laugh on my blog. Thanks for stopping by.
We had a wonderful Anniversary. Thank you. 10 Years as a couple.
This is beautiful! You do eyes so well, I know that's my fave part to draw of the face. It IS 70's, I have to admit, but that's apart of what's so great about it. :)
I hope that you are still creating art, seriously! xoxo
This is really intriguing - and very Haight-Ashbury! I love it.
